When recording into OBS using my Panasonic HC-X2, and ZOOM L8 mixer, I am experiencing a severe lip/video sync issue. It only happens upon playback in media player. It does not happen all the time, but I’m seeing if the system sits idle too long (hour or more, sometimes 30 minutes), the sync issue is there after the I playback the recording.
Example: Today the equipment sat idle for an hour. I did a test recording, and it worked flawlessly. I waited 30 minutes and did another test, and it too worked. 30 mins later, I did another test and it was horrible. The lips were moving in the video, but the audio did not catch up until almost the end of the video. While the video is playing, minus the audio, I can hear other noises in the background, just no audio for the person speaking.
I have tried this set up now, with three different windows based computers, all with different processors. I have also tried the El Gado Camlink and the Magewell Video Capture cards. ALL giving me the same issue.
I guess it should be noted that all the sample rates are at 48khz. The one on the mixer and the one in obs.
Like I said, it doesn’t do it on every recording. Mostly after it sits idle. Either way, it’s unacceptable.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
